A concept for booking a personal chef to cook at home for a dinner party, designed end-to-end from search through booking confirmation, with an MVP scoped for both sides of the marketplace: hosts and chefs.
I split the MVP into two flows rather than trying to fully build out both sides at once:
- Host side: search for a chef by location, date/time, party size, and cuisine/diet preferences. The first iteration relies on direct messaging with the chef to work out menu details, rather than building a full menu-configuration tool before there's demand to justify it.
- Chef side: accept or reject bookings, and message directly with hosts. That messaging thread doubles as a discovery tool: it surfaces which features (menu building, guest-count breakdowns by dietary need) are worth formalizing later.
